Hey there, fabulous girls of the world! In this article we are gonna dive into the amazing world of girlhood – a place filled with sparkles, sass, and infinite possibilities. So, grab your favorite glittery pen and get ready to celebrate everything that makes being a girl so wonderfully unique!
When I decided to start a blog dedicated to girls, I did not really have it all figured out but I thought this introductory article would be a good idea. One that explores what it really means to be a girl because I do not believe that being a girl entails having your hair and nails done, possessing stylish clothes and purses, lamenting about relationships, having a bestfriend, being sassy and sparkly or cooking and cleaning. These are traits that boys also possess so what does it really mean to be a girl besides possessing all these traits?
However, this also raises a question. What if I don't know what makes me unique? Sometimes we seem to think that if we don't have a unique trait then we do not know who we are but then I also ask you this. What's the hurry? Just cause you think about it doesn't mean that you'll have it all figured out. Finding your unique trait comes from self discovery and self discovery is not something you think about. It is something that happens overtime from birth. Some girls are lucky to discover themselves in their early stages and some are late bloomers like myself. I find that am not particularly good at anything but not bad either which leads me to believe that I might be a Super Average Girl. I don't know if anyone else finds themselves in such a position but am still on a self discovery journey and am positive about it. I hope every one of us can eventually discover themselves and accept themselves as they are. #uniqueme
I love that girls are always looking to lift each other up. It might not be all the time but it is definitely most of the time. It is not entirely about feminism but from time memorial we learnt that men under looked women which encouraged them to support each other to get through such times. This is one of the things I like about female friendships because if you have concerns that you need to share, you would be more comfortable sharing them with a female friend, parent or colleague than a male one cause let's face it. No one understands a girl better than a girl.
Your Inner Superhero: Every girl has her own unique superpowers – whether it's rocking a killer sense of style, acing that math test, or walking the runway. You don't really need to have super strength, laser vision or a slim body to be super. Your talents and skills define you because you might find your life revolving around them. For example if you are a good singer, you might find yourself pursuing a career in the music industry. If you're smart and good with studies, you might find yourself taking advantage of your skills from school to pursue a career in certain fields like engineering, business, health and a lot more.
In addition your talents and skills can be hobbies and hobbies do not necessarily need to be productive. They just need to be enjoyable. You could enjoy swimming, designing clothes, painting, drawing, teaching, editing videos and pictures, writing music, crocheting, to mention but a few. Either way we eventually realize that our talents and skills define us and are deeply incorporated in our daily lives. So, don your
invisible cape and embrace your inner superhero because the world is just
waiting for you to unleash your awesomeness!
Of course, this is not something random. Believing in yourself and acknowledging your power is key to the ability to achieve anything. I believe successful women always emphasize this and encourage us to not listen to the negativity that spews from the people around us because gaining success involves following your gut and not stopping for anyone or anything.
Empathy is Key: Being a girl means having a heart as big as the universe. Whether it's lending a listening ear to a friend in need, standing up for those who can't stand up for themselves, or spreading love and kindness wherever you go, empathy is at the core of what it means to be a girl.
I can't help but notice that girls are always referred to as sensitive and emotional beings. Surely this is not something to be embarrassed about but rather proud of because they too define us as girls. Girls with such traits are more likeable among peers because they are supportive especially emotionally. Who wouldn't want such a friend? I know I would. It's one way to confirm that there is good amidst all the evil in this world.
Celebrating Strengths: Whether it's your
quick wit, your unwavering determination, or your ability to slay a killer
winged eyeliner, take pride in your strengths and let them shine! After all,
it's these unique qualities that make you the fierce, fabulous girl you are. Celebrating your strengths is one way to keep yourself encouraged and looking forward to new abilities.
I saw a quote that said " A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step". As a girl I like to think that every girl celebrates each step they take like I do. I used to be very shy and timid that I would get dizzy at the thought of talking to a group of more than 3 people but all that gradually changed when I got to university. I discovered a confident side of myself and I have been celebrating ever since the first time I introduced myself to a group of more than 20 people without getting drowsy or having my heart beating out of my body. I still celebrate small achievements every day like working out or finishing a group project. what about you? What do you celebrate everyday?
So, there you have it, girls – a glitter-filled celebration of everything that makes being a girl so utterly fantastic! Let's go forth and conquer, because the future is female, and it's looking brighter than ever!
